In conjunction with the Managing Director, members of the Corporate Services Division and other Divisional Managers aim to provide a sustainable and growing Retirement Village environment, maximising the benefits for all stakeholders.

POSITION SUMMARY

Position Title Corporate Services Manager
Type of Employment Full-time
Award Not applicable as negotiated position above award threshold.  Reference to award conditions in staff handbook is based upon Qld Clerical Employees Award - State 2002.
Remuneration Agreement

Remuneration agreement as per signed offer.

Further work conditions are guided by the Employee Handbook as updated periodically.

Salary Package (including Superannuation) Anticipated $85,000 to $100,000 dependant upon skills and experience.

SCOPE OF THE POSITION/DUTIES

Principal Accountabilities

Principal Accountabilities include:

Finance

  • Budgeting
  • Financial and Management Accounting
  • Financial and Taxation Reporting
  • Banking relationships and Cash Flow
  • Working Capital
  • Village Accounting and Payroll supervision
  • Liaison with Consultant Accountants and Auditors
  • Liaison with Legal consultants
  • Responsibility for review and monitoring of
    • Internal control procedures
    • Efficiencies of processes

Information

  • Information Coordination and Technology issues (with Information Coordinator)
  • Ensure knowledge base and electronic processes are regularly reviewed and upgraded where relevant

Administration

  • Staffing and General Administration functions and Corporate Service

In addition, in respect of the Finance aspects:

  • improve the group reporting timetable and Board Reporting
  • conduct regular analysis including cash flow forecasting and expense analysis for financial reporting purposes.
  • assist the Village Coordinators and Village's Accountant in meeting reporting obligations to Village residents
  • audit commitments relating to the group companies
  • ensure that all relevant accounting policies, systems and procedures are regularly reviewed and enhanced where necessary to ensure appropriate internal controls and efficiency of processes
  • managing the budgeting process, cash flow forecasting, and generating management reports for one of their entities.
  • analysing trends, ratios and other Key Performance Indicators and preparing operating and capital expenditure reports.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

General Through team participation and support, to enhance the overall performance of the Live Life Villages team
Residents To ensure that all obligations to residents are met in terms of the Financial reporting and other obligations under the Retirement Villages Act and other resident documentation

 

YOUR PROFILE

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Ideally:

  • you are a CPA or CA qualified accountant, with reasonable post qualifying years experience in chartered accounting / part of a financial team
  • you have extensive experience in reporting, particularly in a multi-division environment
  • your experience would be in areas aligned to the Retirement Villages sector or similar
  • you have
    • a stable career history;
    • outstanding written and verbal communication skills with strong leadership and interpersonal skills particularly the ability to influence others;
    • ability to communicate with all levels of management;
    • a commercial outlook, not just "reporting the numbers";
    • previous exposure to monthly and annual results with tax and statutory experience;
    • competent in IT and system skills;
    • capacity as a self starter; and
    • strong commercial acumen.

 

OVERALL EMPLOYER EXPECTATIONS / PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL

Performance Appraisal

Performance appraisal would be conducted during probationary period at:

  • 4 weeks
  • 8 weeks, and
  • 11 weeks

Then

  • Annually (usually in May each year)
Expectations To work with other team members to assist in achieving a cohesive team and outcomes applicable to the team, as a whole
