The Role - An Overview
In conjunction with the Managing Director, members of the Corporate Services Division and other Divisional Managers aim to provide a sustainable and growing Retirement Village environment, maximising the benefits for all stakeholders.
As Corporate Services Manager, your role is responsible for the Corporate Services Division - emcompassing the:
- Finance
- Information; and
- Administration Team.
Senior staffing in this area includes:
- Information Coordinator
- Village Accountant
- Accounting Assistant
- Administration Assistant
The Corporate Services Manager would:
- Lead and control the financial, accounting and administration functions so as to provide accurate and timely information on the businesses' activities;
- Maintain and improve the commercial acumen of the management team to ensure the optimum financial outcomes are achieved;
- Report directly to the Managing Director/CEO; and
- Participate as an active member of the Management team through sharing of insights and leading initiatives/projects as appropriate.

Anticipated $85,000 to $100,000 dependant upon skills and experience. |

- Budgeting

- Banking relationships and Cash Flow

- Village Accounting and Payroll supervision
- Liaison with Consultant Accountants and Auditors
- Liaison with Legal consultants
- Responsibility for review and monitoring of
- Internal control procedures
- Efficiencies of processes
Information
- Information Coordination and Technology issues (with Information Coordinator)
- Ensure knowledge base and electronic processes are regularly reviewed and upgraded where relevant
Administration
- Staffing and General Administration functions and Corporate Service

In addition, in respect of the Finance aspects:
- improve the group reporting timetable and Board Reporting
- conduct regular analysis including cash flow forecasting and expense analysis for financial reporting purposes.
- assist the Village Coordinators and Village's Accountant in meeting reporting obligations to Village residents
- audit commitments relating to the group companies
- ensure that all relevant accounting policies, systems and procedures are regularly reviewed and enhanced where necessary to ensure appropriate internal controls and efficiency of processes
- managing the budgeting process, cash flow forecasting, and generating management reports for one of their entities.
- analysing trends, ratios and other Key Performance Indicators and preparing operating and capital expenditure reports.

To ensure that all obligations to residents are met in terms of the Financial reporting and other obligations under the Retirement Villages Act and other resident documentation |
YOUR PROFILE
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Ideally:
- you are a CPA or CA qualified accountant, with reasonable post qualifying years experience in chartered accounting / part of a financial team
- you have extensive experience in reporting, particularly in a multi-division environment
- your experience would be in areas aligned to the Retirement Villages sector or similar
- you have
- a stable career history;
- outstanding written and verbal communication skills with strong leadership and interpersonal skills particularly the ability to influence others;
- ability to communicate with all levels of management;
- a commercial outlook, not just "reporting the numbers";
- previous exposure to monthly and annual results with tax and statutory experience;
- competent in IT and system skills;
- capacity as a self starter; and
- strong commercial acumen.

- 4 weeks
- 8 weeks, and
- 11 weeks
